Paul Reinfelds is a graduate student here in Chicago.  Paul received his JD from The John Marshall Law School in 2007.  He is currently writing and preparing to defend his doctoral thesis titled “Structural study involving single site amino acid mutations at the surface of Cytochrome c Peroxidase causing unexpected changes in heme group coordination state” at Illinois Institute of Technology.  Paul is a research assistant in Dr. Andrew Howard's lab working on protein purification and crystallography.  Paul is an instructor within the Department of Natural Sciences at Loyola University Chicago, he is a scratch golfer and knows how to throw a mean horseshoe.  In his spare time Paul enjoys calculating the interest on his student loans.  Email Paul at:  paul.reinfelds@biologuechicago.com

 

 

Vid Mohan-Ram is a patent agent with the law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP, and is now here in Chicago after spending five years in their D.C. office.  Vid received his Ph.D. from The University of London in England in Genetics and Molecular Biology in 1996 and then came stateside to do postdoctoral research on muscle genes and cardiomyopathy at the University of Vermont.  He left the lab to become an editor and writer at Science magazine's Next Wave, where he wrote numerous articles on grant-writing, professional development of academic faculty and scientists, science policy and biomedical ethics. Vid presently attends evening classes at The John Marshall Law School and when not lugging 50 lbs of books around enjoys ice hockey, baseball, and cricket. Email Vid at:  vid@biologuechicago.com
